Being a Dad
The joys of being a Dad are endless. Spending time on Lake Champlain with my six year old son is certainly a time I truly cherish. When the wind allows us to, we spend plenty of time in our little 14 foot canoe, exploring the bays and coves. Fishing gear is always with us, but isn't always used. Cathing fish is great, but just spending time as father and son is why we do it. Somedays we pretend to be pirates, other days explorers. Beach combing a new stretch of shoreline is always a big hit. We talk about birds, and fish, and how islands are created, and why there's no sharks in the lake. We tell jokes, and eat bubble gum, and watch clouds. We paddle, get exercise, and enjoy our time together. We love Lake Champlain, especially when the wind is calm.
