Burlington Lighthouse at Sunset Submitted by: Russ Ford Submitted on: 2011-07-15 30 years ago Burlington voted to rebuild a derelict industrial waterfront (dead railroad switching areas, a Superfund site, and industrial detritus) as a mixed use public waterfront. The alternative proposal was to sell it off for private development that would have lined the lake with condominiums. Good call Burlington - and good work by a young mayor named Bernie Sanders!
