Drought Tough on Frogs and Salamanders

Submitted by: Bridget Butler ECHO Staff

Submitted on: 2012-04-13

It's been an unusual spring. Summer-like conditions in March dried up the landscape leading to fire hazard warnings across the region. And those dry conditions haven't been easy on the wildlife either. Conservation Correspondent Bridget Butler pulled her mud boots on to go check on how frogs and salamanders were doing this spring. Joined by herpetologist Jim Andrews, they looked at two breeding pools for wood frogs and spotted salamanders to see how the dry conditions were effecting the amphibian's eggs.
